According to its official website, Charity Bank (The Charity Bank Limited) is a savings and loan bank established in 2002 as an independent regulated bank and entirely owned by charitable foundations, trusts and social purpose organisations; its registered office is in Tonbridge. The bank says it lends the money its savers entrust to it to UK charities, social enterprises and impact-led organisations. It offers individuals and organisations easy access, 33 to 93-day notice and fixed rate savings accounts, a Cash ISA and Community Investment Tax Relief accounts; the easy access and fixed rate accounts open with a minimum of GBP 5,000. Organisations can borrow secured loans from GBP 150,000 up to GBP 8.5 million and use a GBP 50 million energy efficiency loan programme. Accounts can be opened online, and a mobile app is due to launch later in 2026.
