According to its official website, Marsden Building Society was founded on 29 February 1860 in Nelson, Lancashire as the Great and Little Marsden Permanent Benefit Building Society and describes itself as the largest Lancashire-based building society. Its principal office is at 6-20 Russell Street, Nelson, and it has eight branches across Lancashire. It offers easy access, notice, branch and online savings, Cash ISA, Junior Saver, affinity and business deposit accounts. On the mortgage side it serves existing customers with product switches; new customers cannot apply directly and are referred to Mortgage Advice Bureau, and it lends on Guernsey properties through SPF Private Clients.
