According to its official website, Mizuho International is the UK-incorporated entity of Mizuho Financial Group, whose history goes back to 1873 and the founding of Dai-Ichi Bank, Japan's first national bank. The site says Industrial Bank of Japan International (IBJI) established its presence in London in 1975 and became Mizuho International plc in December 2000; the company is a UK subsidiary of Mizuho Securities Co. Ltd. and owns Mizuho Securities Europe GmbH, which began EU operations in March 2019. The group's EMEA business is headquartered in London; according to the FCA register, Mizuho International plc is based at 30 Old Bailey, London. Mizuho EMEA says it provides companies and institutions in the region with advisory services, corporate finance, global markets including fixed income, and trade and cash management.
