According to its official UK website, PayPal is a payment service that lets users pay online and in store, send and request money and manage their money in one place. Buyer protection on eligible purchases, debit, credit and buy now pay later options, PayPal+ rewards points, transaction and subscription tracking, package tracking and shared money Pools are offered; fees apply when converting currency and sending money abroad. Services in the UK are provided by PayPal UK Ltd (company no 14741686): the site states that it is authorised and regulated by the FCA as an electronic money institution (FRN 994790), in relation to regulated consumer credit activities (FRN 996405) and for the provision of cryptocurrency services (FRN 1000741); the crypto registration is an anti-money laundering (MLR) registration, not an investment-services licence. Some products, such as PayPal Working Capital, are not regulated by the FCA. Its registered office is 5 Fleet Place, London.
