According to its official website, paysafecard is a payment method of the Paysafe group that lets people pay online with a 16-digit prepaid code bought at sales outlets or online, without a bank account or credit card and without sharing personal data. The code can be used without registration (up to GBP 40 per transaction in the UK); a free paysafecard account allows payments of up to GBP 1,000 per transaction and adds features such as gifting between accounts and a gift card shop. The site states that a monthly maintenance fee applies to the code from the second month and to the account from the thirteenth month. Paysafe's partner page cites 650,000 sales outlets worldwide, more than 50 countries and more than 30 currencies. According to the footer of the UK site, Prepaid Services Company Limited is authorised by the FCA under the Electronic Money Regulations 2011 to issue electronic money (FRN 900021) and also issues the PaysafeCard Mastercard; the site names PaysafeCard.com Wertkarten GmbH as copyright holder. According to Companies House, the company was incorporated in 2006. This information is the company's own statement.
