According to its official website, SumUp is a payments company that started in 2012 with the belief that anyone should be able to build a successful business; the site says more than 4 million businesses use SumUp tools and the company operates in 38 markets. Products include in-person payments with card readers, Tap to Pay on a phone, a point-of-sale (POS) system and a self-service kiosk; online payments, invoices, payment links, an online store, bookings and ordering tools; a business account with next-day payouts, cash advances and expense management; and gift card and loyalty programmes. Individuals are also offered a personal account with a card and cashback. Services are aimed at a wide range of businesses from small businesses to enterprises, with tailored solutions for food and drink, retail and services. According to the UK site footer, SumUp Payments Limited is authorised by the FCA under the Electronic Money Regulations 2011 (900700). The address in the FCA register is in London.
