The site stresses that Tide is not a bank: Tide Platform Limited is authorised by the FCA under the Electronic Money Regulations 2011 to issue e-money and to provide payment initiation and account information services (FRN 900843), and is also authorised for credit and insurance broking (FRN 718743). Tide current and savings accounts are provided by ClearBank Ltd (FRN 754568); some e-money accounts are held through PrePay Technologies Limited (FRN 900010); for insurance, Tide Insurance Services Limited is authorised by the FCA (FRN 1040067).
