According to its official website, Transwap is a Singapore-headquartered cross-border payment and settlement infrastructure provider licensed in several jurisdictions; it says founder Benjamin Wong built the company in 2015 and that it processes more than USD 2 billion a year. The site offers regulated businesses, corporate treasury teams and institutional clients payments, collections, mass payouts and FX to more than 180 countries, multi-currency accounts holding 34 currencies with local clearing access in Singapore, the United Kingdom, the US, the EU, Hong Kong and Indonesia, and API and accounting software integration. Individuals can make high-value international transfers in more than 24 currencies. The UK entity is Transwap Technologies (UK) Limited, registered in Edinburgh; the site lists it as an FCA electronic money institution (963951). The site also states that the group holds licences from MAS in Singapore (major payment institution, PS20200415), the Hong Kong Customs and Excise Department (16-07-01882) and Bank Indonesia (21/248/Sr/3), plus a FINTRAC registration in Canada; it does not say which companies hold these licences.
